CULTURE SHOCK is a store born from the love and life long collecting obsessions of two overgrown "kids": Steve Lowe & Jeremy Bohannon. Both men have collected for a combined 40 years. Their enjoyment of reading & collecting new & vintage comics, toys & sports cards as children turned into an obsession as adults.

One hot summer day in 2006, these two friends (disillusioned with the jobs that paid the bills) decided to take a risk and give up those practical jobs for their childhood dreams of having their own comic/ toy store. That summer day they began the LONG journey of turning an idea into a successful business plan and taking that plan to the practical world of  the small business administration. After over a year of hard work, tough knocks & shear determination, they were given the means to start their store.

The store would be no ordinary comic store, sport store or toy store. This store would be the "COLLECTORS' Wal-Mart", a one stop shopping mecca for gamers, comic readers, sports lovers & toy collectors. This store would be a bit of nostalgia for adults- the sound of an arcade, the taste of Topps gum, the smell of freshly printed comic pages mingled with the feeling of a long time passed Christmas morn'. A store that was not just brick & mortar but a place where a father passed on the love of baseball cards, where child introduced parent to the new world of gaming and where both created memories to last a  lifetime.

CULTURE SHOCKwas born from the love of collecting and that is what we want to share with our patrons. We know this passion cannot be shared if our focus is solely on making a profit. Thus we created 3 goals that we want to constantly strive to achieve with our store:

1.) Provide families with a fun, entertaining place to socialize and a new avenue in which to relate to one another.

2.) To re-establish collecting as a love & hobby not simply an avenue for profit. 

3.) Introduce the love of collecting to a new generation & provide existing collectors with a NEW collecting experience!

Both Steve & Jeremy are excited to share their obsession of pop-culture collectibles with Saint Charles County. They look forward to providing you with the service you deserve, knowledge you demand and the product you want.
